Andrea Aragone is PhD candidate on the joint programme between the Faculties of Architecture at IUAV University of Venice and Université libre de Bruxelles. He holds an MA in architecture, urbanism and building sciences from Delft University of Technology. His primary research interests are urban transformations and socio-ecological processes. He has worked as a researcher on several studies (Brusseau Bis, funded by Innoviris; Potential Organic Waste in the Brussels Capital Region, funded by Brussels Environment and Green With Grey, Proeftuinen Ontharding funded by Department Omgeving). A member of the Latitude Platform for Urban Research and Design since 2012, Andrea has worked on the relationship between urban transformations and water dynamics as well as on local and regional planning, and participatory design.

Catalina Codruta Dobre is Lecturer and Researcher at LoUIsE – Laboratory on Landscape, Urbanism, Infrastructures and Ecologies (louiselab.be, Université libre de Bruxelles). She holds a PhD in architecture and urban planning from ULB. Her work explores the impact of alternative practices driven by civil society in fostering a sustainability transition towards ‘water-sensitive’ urban environments through fundamental research (e.g. co-production practices over time in the Global North and South), in experimental projects (e.g. Brusseau Bis) and by organizing workshops and seminars to help reinforce international solidarity (as co-founder of RAW association). In 2022, Catalina’s PhD thesis received a Special Doctoral Thesis Award granted by the Belgian Foundation for Future Generations.

Giuseppe Faldi is Lecturer and Researcher at LoUIsE – Laboratory on Landscape, Urbanism, Infrastructures and Ecologies (louiselab.be, Université libre de Bruxelles). He holds an MSc in environmental and land-planning engineering and a PhD in sustainable development and international cooperation from the Sapienza University of Rome. He specializes in urban and environmental planning, urban water management, climate change adaptation and scenario planning, with a specific interest in cities of the Global South. His current research focuses on analysing typologies of co-production of water, sanitation and stormwater management services and their sustainability in both the Global South and the Global North. He has presented his research at many international conferences and published in various peer-reviewed journals.
