Yuan Zhang is PhD Student in Anthropology at the University of Oxford, where she focuses on the anthropology of infrastructure and religion. She holds a MPhil in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford, a Master’s in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University and a BA in Architecture from the same institution. Yuan’s research investigates the lived experiences of house transformations in rural North China. Her work has been supported by various grants, including the Murray Speight Research Grant and the Sir Peter Elworthy Research Fund from the Rhodes Trust. Yuan has published articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Anthropology Today and presented research at conferences on both anthropology and architecture. In addition to academic work, Yuan has been involved in initiatives related to housing and sustainable development.
