Silke Oldenburg is a social anthropologist whose ethnographic research focuses on the intersections of the urban and the political, and specifically on the spatialization and materialization of power, infrastructures, environment and sociality within cities. She has extensive fieldwork experience in Colombia (since 2004) and DR Congo (since 2008). Silke works at the Institute of Anthropology of the University of Basel, Switzerland and was the Principal Investigator of the research project Space, Agency, and Climate Change in a Contested Urban Landscape: Exploring Environmental Futures in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia (2020–2022), funded by the Leading House for the Latin American Region St. Gallen, and is currently PI of the Project Urban Waterworlds (2022-2023), funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

María Buelvas is a Colombian social anthropologist who works at the intersection of anthropology, poetry and visual art. She was a researcher for the project “Space, Agency, and Climate Change in a Contested Urban Landscape: Exploring Environmental Futures in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia,” funded by the Leading House for the Latin American Region St. Gallen. She is also founder of dos.artepublico – a platform that brings together social and artistic research in public space in Cartagena, Colombia.
