Mona Chettri is Researcher and Co-Founder of Reading Himalaya, a research and policy consultancy focussing on the eastern Himalaya. She has worked as a postdoc in the Netherlands, Denmark and Australia. She is the co-editor of Development Zones in Asian Borderlands (2021) and author of Constructing Democracy: Ethnicity and Democracy in the Eastern Himalaya (2017), both published by Amsterdam University Press. She has published widely on borderlands, gender, environmentand development. Her current research focuses on gender, environment and infrastructure in the Sikkim-Darjeeling Himalaya, India.

Mikel Venhovens is Postdoctoral Researcher at the Departmentof Anthropology, Aarhus University. His work centres around (post-)conflict dynamics, de-facto states, crisis, uncertainty and materiality in the Southern Caucasus. He has published in journals such as Environment and Planning C: Politics and Space, Journal of Borderland Studies and Caucasus Survey. Mikel is the editor-in-chief of Aarcon Report, an Open Access publication series from the Aarhus Centre for Conflict Management.
